Bafana Bafana have plummeted five places in the world rankings released by Fifa yesterday despite recording 2-1 win over Norway in one of their last two games.

They are now lying a disappointing 77th, which should be cause for concern for South Africans, especially ahead of the Confederations Cup in June.

Prior to the game against Norway in Phokeng on March 27 and the 2-0 defeat by Portugal in Switzerland on March 31, Bafana Bafana were 72nd in the world.

In Africa, Bafana Bafana tumbled two places to 18th.

Cameroon are still the top ranked African country in the world, occupying 14th position, and are number one in Africa.

Spain are still on top of the Fifa world rankings.
