Sundowns face Stars hoodoo

Mamelodi Sundowns will have revenge on their minds tonight at Olen Park when they visit Platinum Stars.

Stars are a hoodoo team for Sundowns - beating them twice in their past two meetings.

They emerged 2-0 victors in the first round played at Super Stadium.

And who can forget the 1-0 Nedbank Cup win last month that cost coach Henri Michel his job?

Downs therefore have a mammoth task ahead, as they seek to reassure skeptics that the 6-1 mauling of Mauritian opposition on Sunday was a sign of things to come under the new leadership of Ted Dumitru.

Stars, meanwhile would have used the break to realise the precariousness of their position. For a team of their calibre, languishing at 13th spot on the log is just not on, as defender Daniel "Sailor" Tshabalala readily admits.

Kickoff is at 7.30pm at Olen Park.
