With the Absa Premiership title now out of reach for Kaizer Chiefs, the remaining fight for them is to ensure they remain well inside the top eight to play in the MTN8.

This was after Chiefs blew hot and cold in a goalless draw with Free State Stars at Olympia Park in Rustenburg on Saturday.

Muhsin Ertrugal, Chiefs' coach, summed it up when he said in a post-match media briefing that the game was such a bore to the spectators.

"It was not a good game for the spectators, the two clubs did not really have a go at each other. We had several scoring opportunities and should have won the game."

Chiefs are left with five matches to complete their 2008/2009 Premiership campaign, but Ertugral is adamant they will feature in WafaWafa next season.

"There are five tough games, but we will continue fighting for maximum points until the last game. Football is a game of miracles."

While Ertugral's future at Chiefs is hanging in the balance, some of their fans have urged management to retain him, saying they should rather get new quality players.

Ea Lla Koto's coach Steve Komphela sounded pleased with a draw, saying their plan of qualifying for WafaWafa was still intact.

Indeed, Stars looked more organised at the back but their players, including chief striker Sithembiso Ngcobo, seemed to have left their scoring boots in Bethlehem.

Dominic Isaacs, the defender who joined Chiefs from Ajax Cape Town last year but was sidelined by an injury, made an impressive debut.
