Transport alliance sets down deadline for political parties

The KwaZulu-Natal Transport Alliance has given political parties "two weeks" to contact it.

General secretary Bafana Mhlongo said yesterday that the alliance, which has more than 16000 members, would hold a mass meeting on April 16 to "take an inclusive decision" on which party it would vote for in the April 22 general elections.

The announcement came after insiders said IFP national chairperson Zanele Magwaza-Msibi had met members of the alliance.

But president of the alliance George Ferror denied there had been a meeting and said if any member had met the national chairperson of the IFP they would have done so on their own accord.

"Up to the day of the meeting there were no meetings with political organisations taking place," Ferror said.
