The war of words between two kings of maskandi, Thokozani Langa and Bhekumuzi Luthuli, has finally ended.

The two singers used their music to insult each other. However, last week they called a truce after a four-hour meeting at the SABC offices in Durban.

They brought their managers to Ukhozi FM station manager Welcome Nzimande.

"The aim of the meeting was to understand what has caused maskandi musicians to use music to insult each other instead of entertaining people. As a station, we felt we could no longer entertain this," said Nzimande.

"I told them that if they continue with this I will ban their music from our station."

Luthuli said: "I am happy that we sat down and talked like men. However, I pray that people meant what they said, because I also think that we were treating the symptoms - and not the cause."

Langa said: "I have been longing for this to happen. I am happy that we finally resolved the matter amicably."

The two have been nominated in the same category for the SA Music Awards next month.
