Ligwalagwala FM's popular breakfast show host Dumisane "Madumane" Simelane will launch his debut album, From Spy to Sky, next Saturday.

He has worked with local talent since October to finish the album, including the Sama record of the year award winner DJ Sdunkero (Dumisane Kunene).

Malini, nominees this year for Sama's best pop album and famous for their track Ubumnandi, will be featured at the launch.

"The fact that I'm from Spy Town [Pienaar] and was raised by my grandmother, yet managed to be where I am today, means that other people can also achieve their goals, irrespective of their background.

"My aim is to unearth the abundant talent that the youth of Mpumalanga have.

"I see myself as a Dr Dre of Mpumalanga in three to five years," Simelane said yesterday.

The 14-track house album features songs such as Busisa, a prayer for people with hope, and From Spy To Sky, a song about his life.

The launch will be at the Kwasa Grill in Nelspruit on April 11.

L'vovo, Brickz and Howza are expected to attend the launch, which will start at 6pm and end at 6am.

Simelane has been voted Ligwalagwala FM's best DJ since 2004.
