The latest figures marked a rise of 40000 from estimates given last Friday of 160 000 by the UN office for the coordination of humanitarian affairs.
Heavy rains and floods have also affected up to 350000 people in Namibia, with neighbouring Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique, Botswana and Zimbabwe also hit by the floods. - Sapa-AFP
