The popular Diski Nine Nine Easter soccer tournament will be staged at the Vosloorus grounds in Ekurhuleni from April 10 to 13.

It is hosted by Vosloorus Soccer Organising Committee with the intention to keep the youth away from drugs and crime during the Easter holidays.

Tournament coordinator Freddy Mkhwanazi said only 12 senior teams will be eligible to participate in the tournament this season.

It will be a case of first come, first served .

The registration fee is R1000 for the senior teams while the entry for the under-14 and netball teams - new additions to the tournament - is free.

"We resolved to include the development teams in the competition because they have been neglected in the past," Mkhwanazi said.

The first prize for the seniors is R12 000, soccer kits, gold medals and a floating trophy.

Reigning champions Ama Ten-Ten will be out to snatch their fourth win in a row since the competition started.
