Quitting ANC a mistake

It is good that Mlungisi Hlongwane has come back home. The defections by tried-and-tested ANC cadres has been painful to us who share their views about a third term and Polokwane.

It was highly incorrect to leave because one individual was dealt a blow. Having gone through the historical background of the ANC and its youth league, leadership contests and robust political engagements and influences have been key in characterising the ANC as a leader of the national democratic revolution.

It was therefore discouraging and embarrassing to see key cadres leaving the movement.

Having gone through political and ideological development, it is interesting that many comrades have gone through thick and thin because of the internal dynamics relevant to strengthen the ANC.

It is every cadre's responsibility to confront any challenge, which will not advance the ANC's strategic objectives. When there are difficulties, cadres are expected to resolve them and to provide direction.

The ANC is a giant of a liberation movement baptised by kings and chiefs who are now spiritual ancestors and defenders of our hard-worn freedom. It can't be destroyed by smear campaigns and people who want to advance their narrow political and economic interests. Let us vote ANC.
