Loads of Easter fun for kids

The Easter holiday season has started and schools have closed for the break.

The Easter holiday season has started and schools have closed for the break.

But that doesn't mean children have to stay at home and feel bored as there's a lot of fun to be had out there.

The Joburg Easter Festival, previously known as the Rand Easter Show, will this year be held at the Nasrec exhibition centre from April 3 to 13.

Activities include a circus and a host of others.

If you want your children to be involved in educational activities, book them a session at the Experilab in Randburg. Holiday workshops include programmes on the solar system and volcanoes.

Public libraries are also running holiday programmes for children and are hosting Easter egg hunts and storytelling sessions.

The Namirembe Holiday Camps at Muldersdrift run programmes in which children learn about horses.

They ride, clean tack or stables and help with the younger horses.

Children are given an all-round knowledge of dressage, jumping, equitation and some fungymkhana games.

Other activities include swimming and the children watch movies inside when it's too hot to play outside.
