The Wedding Expo, Africa's biggest wedding show, will glide into the Coca-Cola Dome in Northgate on Saturday and Sunday.

The expo will showcase over 300 of Gauteng's crème de la crème bridal suppliers. Attending the bridal show gives brides and grooms the opportunity to meet face to face with quality suppliers.

The expo is held twice yearly, and offers free fashion shows, competitions, wedding planning, bridal workshops, and all the couple need to know about planning for a wedding. The Fashion Spectaculars are without doubt one of the best parts of The Wedding Expo. Held twice a day at 11am and 3pm, these free shows give the bride-to-be the perfect place to find her gown.

Amanda Cunning, managing director of South Africa's largest bridal expo, says there has been a year-on-year growth of visitors to The Wedding Expo, with figures now reaching 13000.

She said despite the credit crunch, she didn't expect much of a change in these figures.

"Couples still get married and tend to spend on the big day even in a slower economy," said Cunningham.

Cunningham said the attendants would be empowered by participating in the all-new workshops presented by experts in their fields.

"Regardless of where you are in the planning process, there is valuable information to be gained at The Wedding Expo."

Entrance is R70 per person and tickets are available at the door.

The show is open between 9am and 5pm.

Visitors will experience a lot at The Wedding Expo 2009, and the show promises expert, professional vendors representing a wide range of services including the following :

l Make-up and spa services, flowers, decorations, cakes, insurance companies, invitations, bartending and catering, gifts and favours, disc jockey services, videography, wedding hall locations and more.
