DOHA - Arab leaders united firmly behind Sudan's leader against his international arrest warrant over Darfur.

"We stress our solidarity with Sudan and our rejection of the ICC decision against President Omar al-Bashir," the leaders said in a statement.

Bashir lashed out at the UN Security Council in the presence of UN secretary-general Ban Ki-Moon, accusing the 15-member body of "double standards".

The heads of state also warned that an Arab peace offer was not open-ended, while Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad called for "suspending" the offer until Israel engages fully. - Sapa-AFP
