Boys held for drugs

Two schoolboys were arrested and charged with drug possession at Central High School in Soshanguve yesterday, Pretoria police said.

Two schoolboys were arrested and charged with drug possession at Central High School in Soshanguve yesterday, Pretoria police said.

Captain Solly Marindi said one of the boys allegedly intimidated other pupils and teachers who had caught him cribbing during a test on Wednesday. The boy was ordered to bring his parents to the school, but he allegedly arrived with two friends from a nearby school.

"When his friends were turned away by the teachers, the boy left with them and used an opening in the school's fence to enter the premises. He did not go to class," Marindi said.

Police were called to the school, where they apprehended two boys, aged 17 and 18, in the school yard. The third boy ran away.

Police searched the youths and found two matchboxes filled with dagga inside their school bags. - Sapa
