More than 1300 athletes will invade Tshwane today and tomorrow to fight for tickets to Italy for the prestigious IAAF World Youth Championships billed for Bressanone from July 8 to 12.
They will negotiate their way to Bressanone through the Yellow Pages South African Junior, Youth and Under 23 Championships at the University of Pretoria.
Proceedings will start at 6.30pm on both days.
Athletics SA's events, marketing and communications manager Phiwe Mlangeni-Tsholetsane revealed yesterday that they had received a total of 1360 entries from all provinces.
She said they had also received entries from top athletes from Mauritius.
