Chaos continued to reign at the Spruitview-based community radio station Kasie FM on the East Rand yesterday when striking DJs disrupted broadcasting in the morning by confiscating equipment and reportedly intimidating colleagues.

A meeting was held by the station's board with management to end the strike.

The DJs who downed tools yesterday accused management of running the station "like a spaza shop" and firing DJs at will.

After yesterday's meeting, the board conceded that there were problems at the station.

"The board of directors of Kasie FM would like to first to apologise to the listeners for what happened. The board accepted the list of grievances and promises to respond to it on Monday," the station said yesterday.
