A 22-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing to death a 50-year-old man in Howick, KwaZulu-Natal police said yesterday.

Superintendent Henry Budhram said police responded to a call outside a tavern on Bell Street at around 3pm on Tuesday.

Police found the body of Pipi Zuma outside the tavern with multiple stab wounds.

Zuma and the suspect had apparently argued at the tavern. After they had left the tavern, an altercation ensued during which Zuma was stabbed to death.

A knife, believed to have been used in the murder was recovered on the scene. The suspect will appear in the Howick magistrate's court soon. - Sapa
