Protests over lack of accommodation and the exclusion of poor-performing students continued at the troubled University of KwaZulu-Natal yesterday.

But by lunch time, the students had stopped toyi-toying saying they were terrified of the police who had earlier allegedly fired rubber bullets at them.

At the time of going to press, the university had not issued a statement as management was still locked in negotiations.
