Easter celebrations for racing in KwaZulu-Natal will centre on Clairwood Racecourse in Durban on Sunday, April 12, with the Annual Rising Sun Gold Circle Racing Carnival.

The Carnival promises to be a festive outing for the entire family, with top class racing.

Featuring The Rising Sun Easter Handicap, carrying stakes of R125000, the day will be packed with racing action and the race programme will be interspersed with a variety of live entertainment.

If the entertainment in between races is not enough to keep you interested, then patrons can browse among the many flea market and food stalls.

On offer at the stalls will be everything from toys to clothing and a variety of tasty snacks for all palates. After the running of the last race, an early evening of entertainment has been arranged with a bhangra bash.

For the mechanically minded, a collection of exotic vehicles and classic motor bikes will be on display including hotrods, customised and high-performance cars.

The social highlight for the day will once again be the fashion with this year's theme being "Extravagant Elegance".

The three competition categories are:

l Students' Designer Wear;

l Professional Designer Wear; and

l The Most Striking Couple.

Judges will be scouting on the day for outfits so let your imagination run wild with flair, fantasy, fascination, feathers and fur.

Remember elegance while creating that once-off master piece with eye-catching sequins, beads, crystals, diamante, bangles and extravagant hats. Find that shine, find that sparkle and stand out in the crowd.
