The abandoned match between Safa Mpumalanga Ehlanzeni Region SAB stream's winners MP Highlanders from Mgwenya and Nyamazane Celtic from Kruger might delay the provincial play-offs.

The match, which was hosted by Celtic at KaBokweni Stadium last week, was called off in the second half after the dlights were switched off, allegedly by Celtic supporters.

At that stage, Highlanders were leading 1-0. Highlanders had won the first leg 2-1 at Thulamahashe Stadium.

The winners in this stream are expected to represent the region in the provincial play-offs on Saturday at Embalenhle Stadium in Secunda.

Themba Shube, Safa Ehlanzeni chairperson, said the case regarding the lights was postponed on Friday after witnesses failed to attend the hearing. "The case will now be heard on Monday (today) and we are adamant that it will be concluded," he said.

Meanwhile, Gert Sibande will be represented by Young Highlanders and Enkangala by Seven Stars in the provincial play-offs.

The provincial champions and runners-up will be promoted to the Mpumalanga Vodacom Promotional League.
