There are none so blind as those who will not see - so goes the proverb.

There are none so blind as those who will not see - so goes the proverb.

Never has the aphorism been so true as in the pitiful saga of struggle hero Chris Hani's convicted murderer, Clive Derby-Lewis, for whom it still has to dawn that he has long missed the boat.

If only he had made a full disclosure about Hani's assassination before the Truth and Reconciliation Commission a decade or so ago, he would probably have been a free man today. He would not be turning to the courts to seek parole.

Until Derby-Lewis and his accomplice Janusz Walus come clean, they should not expect sympathy from the courts, the Hani family and the public.

Only the truth shall set them free.
