South African Schools Football Association's president Mandla "Shoes" Mazibuko says Rosina Sedibane high school's preparations for the World Schools Football Championship in Turkey are going according to plan.

The tournament takes place in Antalya from April 6 to 13.

Rosina Sedibane qualified for the event after clinching the national Vodacom Inter-schools Challenge last year.

Mazibuko said most of the logistical arrangements were at an advanced stage.

"We have finalised all the financial and technical needs of the team. We paid the deposit for the tournament, and the balance will be paid on arrival in Turkey."

The Tshwane, Laudium-based, institution is mentored by Godfrey Mosoetsa, who is SuperSports United's development coach.

Should Rosina Sedibane win in Turkey, they will become the first South African school to bring the title home.

Transnet School of Excellence came close to achieving this but were beaten by a German school in the final of the 2007 instalment of the schools' football fiesta in Chile.
