Nompumelelo Zuma, fondly referred to as MaNtuli, is the fourth wife of ANC president Jacob Zuma.
The two married six years ago and have two children - Thandisiwe, 8, and eight-month-old Sinqobile.
MaNtuli is tipped to be the one to join Zuma when he takes over as the country's president after elections on April 22.
But Zuma has not yet revealed anything about his choice for first lady, nor has anyone in the ANC.
One close friend says Ntuli-Zuma does have what it takes to be the "first lady".
"She is smart, clever and cares about people. She is not just a pretty face.
"She has always kept a low profile and has only been seen at special events in Nkandla in KwaZulu-Natal.
"But clearly she is well placed to position herself as the first lady."
