Fifa's highest decision-making body will meet in Zurich, Switzerland, this week to assess South Africa's preparations for the Confederations Cup and 2010 World Cup.

The executive committee will also discuss a report from Jerome Valcke, Fifa's general secretary, who was in this country earlier this month and attended a board meeting of the Local Organising Committee.

Valcke also visited the four cities that will host the Confederations Cup, where he inspected the upgrading of the stadiums.

The four venues that will host the Confederations Cup are Ellis Park (Jozi), Loftus (Tshwane), Free State (Mangaung) and Royal Bafokeng (Rustenburg).

The tournament will be played from June 14 to 28.

Ellis Park will also be the venue for the two big events of the "Festival of Champions", hosting the opening and closing ceremonies.
