Two unsung heroes, George Ngwenya and Norman Hlabane, who honed the fighting prowess of a number of former boxing greats, give Takalani Ndlovu the edge over Oscar Chauke.
Ndlovu and Chauke will fight for the vacant International Boxing Organisation featherweight title on Friday night.
Their boxing match will be presented by World Sports Promotions of the media-shy King Ramapedi, Thabang Segooa, Mikiro Ramphenyane and Eric Strydom.
"Takalani is calculative and very accurate in punching and he hits the body hard. Chauke is tailor-made for him, especially with his upright stance. Takalani will stop Chauke within the distance," predicted Ngwenya from the famed Dube Boyz Club where he worked alongside Theo Mthembu in producing dogs of war including Jacob Matlala.
Meanwhile Hlabane, who produced one of the finest South African boxers, Dingaan Thobela, said Ndlovu's punching power and skill will be too much for Chauke.
"Chauke does not have a kick," he said.
Sadly though both Ngwenya and Hlabane have not been honoured for their achievements.
Ndlovu is trained by Nick Durandt while Chauke's skills are honed by Manny Fernandez, both accomplished trainers.
Chauke holds the WBF junior featherweight belt while Ndlovu, a former IBO champ, is crownless.
Ndlovu, 31, nicknamed "The Panther", has fought better quality fighters such as Anthony Tshehla, Malcolm Klassen, Vuyani Bungu and Steve Molitor.
Ndlovu was stopped in nine rounds by Molitor for the IBF belt in 2007. He boasts 18 stoppages from 28 wins against five defeats.
On the other hand, Jeffrey Mathebula is the only big-name fighter that Chauke fought.
"Golden Boy", as Chauke, 28, is known, lost on points to Mathebula, his home boy from Limpopo, over six rounds.
Mathebula will challenge Celestino Caballero for the IBF junior featherweight belt in the US on April 4.
Chauke has 24 wins (7 stoppages) against four losses.
Fight fans must brace themselves for a humdinger of a fight that will be televised live on Blow by Blow from 9.30pm.
