The National Democratic Convention and the National People's Movement have signed an election pact to join forces for the national and provincial elections on April 22.

The parties are led by Hawu Mbatha and Aubrey Mbatha respectively.

Announcing the formation of the coalition in Durban yesterday, Nadeco president Hawu Mbatha said the two parties had reached an agreement to work together from now onwards.

He said the coalition agreement was reached because the two parties had similarities.

"The commonalities in the two organisations are the fear of God, family values and deepening democracy," said Hawu Mbatha.

Napemo's Aubrey Mbatha said they had decided to work with Nadeco after they failed to register on time with the Independent Electoral Commission. .

He said they had missed the registration deadline by 15 minutes, and therefore the party would not take part in the elections.
