Magdeline Mvimbi of Vosloorus on the East Rand endures pain every day. She says complaining does not help and she hopes her wound will heal.

Last month, Mvimbi, 77, was cut open and then stitched up again by doctors at the Chris Hani-Baragwanath Hospital after they realised they did not have the necessary equipment to operate on her.

"The pain is there and I have to live with it. The wound is healing," she told Sowetan yesterday.

Mvimbi was discharged and told the wound would take about six weeks to heal. The doctors will then reschedule her appointment for the operation.

"I've waited for two years to have it done. More waiting would kill me," she said.
