Vusi Sibiya, the traditional healer who disappeared while on bail for murder, has been found in a jail cell arrested for a different crime.

Sibiya's murder case, for which he had been granted bail, was supposed to have started on Monday. However, he did not show up, leading to a warrant for his arrest being issued by the Johannesburg high court.

Yesterday morning he was found in the Lenasia police cells by investigating officer Captain Happy Vilankulu. Sibiya was arrested for assaulting his neighbour on Sunday. He appeared in court yesterday and was denied bail. He will remain in custody until he appears in court for the assault charge on Friday.

Sibiya and co-accused Xolani Kubheka and Siphiwe Khanyile are charged with the murder of Johannes Banda. It is alleged that in 2006, Sibiya promised Kubheka and Khanyile R2000 if they brought him a human head and genitals. - Dudu Busani
