Five provinces will wrap up their Metropolitan under-19 championship and select their teams in preparation for the national playoffs that will be staged in Durban from March 29 to April 4.

It is at the national event where scouts will unearth talent while players will also have an opportunity to showcase their skills as they try steer their provinces to the title. Last year's edition was held at Seshego Stadium in Limpopo and was won by Gauteng, who beat North West in the final.

Amajita's goalkeeper Pule Boalefa's talent was unearthed during the tournament.

Provinces that are expected to finalise their selections this weekend are Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal, North West, Gauteng and Free State.

Eastern Cape, Northern Cape, Western Cape and Mpumalanga are done with their selections and they are only waiting for the national championship.

The best 22 players of the tournament will be selected to play for the Metropolitan All Stars.

l Bakerville Primary School will represent Eastern Cape in the national championship of Danone Nations Cup after they beat Maletsoai 1-0 during the provincial championship on Saturday in Port Elizabeth.
