Forsta Teanet escaped death by a whisker in an accident at the weekend.
Teanet, who recently won the Munghana Lonene's 2008 Best Xitsonga Disco award, was treated for shock at Polokwane Private Hospital on Sunday.
He is the younger brother of the late Shangaan disco king Peter Teanet.
The accident happened at the corner of Dorp and Marshall streets.
Police spokesperson Lesiba Ramoshaba said the accident happened when a Fiat Go sedan collided with an oncoming Land Cruiser.
The robot pole then fell on top of Teanet's parked car.
His car, a Mazda Sting, was damaged on the driver's side.
"The occupants of the two other vehicles sustained minor injuries and were treated at a hospital and later discharged," said Ramoshaba.
When Sowetan went to the scene, Teanet was lying unconscious on the side of the road. He was rushed to hospital where he was treated for shock and discharged.
"I was getting out of my car when the accident happened.
"I heard a big bang and a minute later I was lying on the ground," said Teanet.
He said he was lucky to be alive.
The Bolobedu-based celebrity said the accident happened hours before he was to clinch a lucrative music deal with some Polokwane and Pretoria tycoons, who wanted to invest in his recording studio.
Teanet is the fifth child in his family.
He was born in 1974 to a family with strong musical roots.
He sprang to stardom in 1990 when he released his debut album, The Black Force Volume 1.
His brother Peter died in 1996, his sisters Onnica and Nurse in 2003 and 2006 respectively, and his mother in 2005.
