Ajax Cape Town's creative linkman Thulani Serero reckons qualifying for the Nedbank Cup last 16 was a good morale boost to get their winning streak back on track.

The Urban Warriors take on equally inconsistent Platinum Stars in an Absa Premiership match at Athlone Stadium tonight, with kickoff at 7.30.

Ajax have been blowing hot and cold since the start of the second round after looking like title contenders earlier in the season.

In their past four league games, the Craig Rosslee-guided Ajax have collected only one point out of a possible 12.

They went down 2-1 to Bloemfontein Celtic, were defeated 2-0 by reigning champions SuperSport United and suffered a 1-0 loss to Bidvest Wits.

Their only point came from a goalless draw against AmaZulu, but Serero is adamant they will emerge victors tonight.

For their part, The Tycoons - lying 12th on the log with 27 points from 22 matches - have collected five points from their past four games.

Stars have to win to enhance their chances of qualifying for Wafa Wafa and their industrious midfielder Stanley Kgatla insists they will win the clash this time round after drawing 1-1 in the first round. In Ke Yona, Stars beat Golden Arrows 5-3.

l The last-32 round of the Nedbank Cup resumes tomorrow with three games, the main one being between Moroka Swallows and Wits at Olympia Park (7.30pm).

In Limpopo, Peace Lovers welcome Real Madrid at Peter Mokoba Stadium (7.30pm).

The last game will see Santos take on Milano at Athlone Stadium at 7.30pm. The draw for the last 16 will take place on Thursday.
