Cope presidential candidate Mvume Dandala said the church still has an important role to play in South African politics.
Dandala said this yesterday after addressing congregants at the Christian Worship Centre in Manini, near Thohoyandou in Limpopo.
"I become surprised when people don't seem to remember what the church did. It was the church that gave refuge to many political players," he said.
Dandala wrapped up his campaign day by meeting with the Mphephu royal council members in Dzanani.
