Dick Muir, assistant coach of Springboks, has commended Investec Bank for making rugby development in South Africa their outmost priority.

Speaking at the launch of the Investec International Rugby Academy at Sandton on Tuesday night, Muir said South African players and coaches will now enter a new era of professionalism offering them access to the best minds in the game.

The Academy is a new development for players and coaches from schools and varsities to senior and Super 14 levels across the country. It will offer position-specific training, mental toughness, rugby intelligence and skills development.

The first high-performance courses will start in Pretoria towards the end of next month before they are introduced to Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg. - Russel Morena
