What do you love most about your job?

What do you love most about your job?

Every day is new and exciting. We are constantly looking for new and innovative products for our customers and it makes for a very stimulating environment. I am allowed to be very creative and I just have a lot of fun.

Do you have a background in interior design?

No, I actually have a marketing background with trend and product development experience.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?

Being able to offer the customer a great product that is a spot-on trend at an affordable price.

Do trends in home ware change quite a lot or do they remain fairly constant?

The trends are constantly changing. As with fashion, they change from season to season.

What is the most useful Clicks home ware item that you personally own?

My clear glass vase. I always love to have fresh flowers in my house.

Do you travel at all as part of your job?

Yes, we are very fortunate to travel to the East, London, and the US.

What is the most exciting place you have been to on a buying trip?

It depends. We generally go to the East to the fairs and to London and the US for trends. Both are equally exciting.

Are most Clicks products produced locally or do you import from other countries?

I import most of my products from China, but I do have some local suppliers.

Name one of your top sellers and tell us what makes it so popular.

My top-selling line is my fluff shaver. It is great value for money and can literally be taken anywhere with you. It helps remove any fluff, lint, baubles or hair from clothing. It's very handy.

What is the most popular colour for home items this season?

We are going into autumn so popular colours are those of the changing leaves which are so beautifully evident in the Cape. Oranges, greens, mustards yellows, warm yellows, maroons and dark-chocolate browns.

How often do you change the products on sale?

We introduce a new colour palette every three months.

Do you ever get left with items that just don't sell? If so, what does Clicksdo with them?

Yes we do. These generally go on sale or are marked down. - Andrea Nagel
