Mamelodi Sundowns striker Sibusiso Zuma's equalising goal on Saturday has boosted his confidence ahead of their crucial Absa Premiership game against his former team Orlando Pirates on Wednesday.

Sundowns registered a slender 2-1 victory over a gritty Santos in an exciting game at Super Stadium in Atteridgeville.

Zuma came in for Diyo Sibisi in the 66th minute and got the equaliser in the 79th minute after the People's Team had taken a 1-0 lead through Eleazar Rodgers seven minutes earlier. Surprise Moriri netted Downs' winner in the 90th minute.

It was Zuma's first goal for the club in a career hampered by injuries.

"That goal gave me the needed morale booster ahead of our next game. Unfortunately we face my former team Pirates in an away match midweek.

"Though I am not 100 percent healed, I am looking forward to continuing where I left off if given another opportunity," said an excited Zuma.
