Bloemfontein Celtic's ability to avoid the relegation will be tested when they host AmaZulu in an Absa Premiership match at Seisa Ramabodu Stadium on Sunday at 3.30pm.

It is likely to be a difficult match for Phunya SeleSele who will miss their prized player Gert Schalkwyk due to suspension.

The match has all the hallmarks of a thriller as both sides are coming off wins over fancied opponents.

Usuthu registered a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Premiership champions SuperSport United on Wednesday. Phunya SeleSele clipped Moroka Swallows' wings 4-1 at home on February 18.

Celtic coach Owen da Gama admitted yesterday: "AmaZulu are a tough team and it will not be an easy match for us. But we need the three points because of our precarious position on the log.

"I will certainly miss Gert, but I have confidence in every player that will play on Sunday."

He also described Mark Mayambela as a special player. Celtic also welcome back Timothy Batabaire, Cyrille Mubiala and Solomon Mathe.

Usuthu's technical staff were unavailable for comment yesterday.

But the visitors' attack has suffered a blow as they will be minus their trusty forward Dumisani Ngwenya, who is suspended.

l Strugglers Thanda Royal Zulu and Bay United are expected to tear each other to shreds at Mpumalanga Stadium at 3.30pm on Sunday.
