I absolutely love shoes ... and clothes ... and handbags!
How many pairs of shoes do you own?
Wow, difficult question! Probably about 90 pairs. All the cupboards in my house are overflowing, so I have a rule: If I buy another pair, then one must go (to charity).
Do you ever have to travel for your job? If so, where have you travelled to?
I travel eight times a year internationally as well as go on local trips to our stores throughout the country.
What would you say is the worst part of your job?
When someone doesn't like what you've bought. But hey, you can't please everyone all of the time!
What are the perks of your job, freebies?
Unfortunately we are not allowed any freebies because it is against company policy, but the performance bonuses are really good and, of course, travelling to Italy four times a year.
What type of personality do you have to be to be a buyer?
You have to love fashion and be interested in market trends; be a positive go-getter; must be outgoing with good communication skills and have good numerical and admin skills.
What has been your worst experience as a buyer?
When a range doesn't sell. And eating dodgy food in China!
Who is your favourite shoe designer and why?
Christian Laboutin. His stores look like a French boudoir and his shoes are sexy and glam, without being garish.
What do you do with the shoes that don't get sold?
We have to mark them down until they are sold out, which is really bad for profit margins (so no performance bonuses!)
What type of shoes are your favourites?
I normally wear whatever is the trend of the moment, but I do love heels. They make me feel tall, slim and sexy.
What is this year's must-have shoe?
At the moment platforms, they are back in a big way! Wear them either Boho or grunge/rock chic.
What are your top five tips on how to keep shoes properly.
nUse the correct shoe care product. Ask your friendly Spitz store consultant. Never drive with your shoes on. Don't walk in water or on gravel. Keep them neatly in a cupboard or drawer filled with a shoe tree or paper to keep the shape and absorb moisture. - Keitumetse Segoai
