Meeting Africa 2009, the continent's top marketing platform for business tourism, is on at the Sandton Convention Centre from tomorrow until February 27.

In addition to locals, exhibitors will come came from the UK, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, the US, Australia, Italy, India and China.

South African Tourism is encouraging all industry players who plan to attend Meetings Africa 2009 to register online for easy access.

The event will be officially opened by Environmental Affairs and Tourism Minister Marthinus van Schalkwyk.

Nomasonto Ndlovu, global manager: business tourism at South African Tourism, says they are expecting about 3000 people to visit the exhibition, including 120 international buyers of business tourism products and services.

"Registering beforehand on www.meetingsafrica.co.za will save time and facilitate easy access for visitors who have scheduled appointments with exhibitors," says Ndlovu.

She adds that people should click on "visitors" and then choose the "register" option to fill in the visitor registration form online.

Ndlovu says over and above the online option, visitors and exhibitors can use an online appointment diary.
