SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt's team remains perched at the top of the Absa Premiership league, but on Saturday Hunt grumbled a little about the countless scoring opportunities that were spurned by his team.

United had come out with a 2-0 victory over Ajax Cape Town at Super Stadium in Atteridgeville, thereby going a long way to warning others in contention that they will not be easily dislodged from the summit.

Daine Klate and substitute Tefera Fikru were the goalscorers.

"We have some tough games coming up- AmaZulu and then Kaizer Chiefs. The pressure has started to mount and I sense and with suspensions and injuries, we are going to find it challenging," Hunt said.

Ajax coach Craig Rosslee, by his own admission, said the loss put paid Ajax's hopes of staging a challenge of the championship.

"We committed the cardinal error at the back when the first goal was scored. And in trying to get the equaliser, we then left holes at the back. We have fallen off the title race now, and we just need to concentrate on finishing at the top," Rosslee said.
