No use trying to rekindle a burnt-out flame

I was with a woman for seven years but last year she left me for a married man. We have a son who is three years old.

I was with a woman for seven years but last year she left me for a married man. We have a son who is three years old.

She told me that she was satisfied with the love I was giving her. She said it was the first time for her to be given that type of love, but she is also standing her ground that the love from her side is gone.

I was with her early in January. We kissed and ate lunch together and she told me that she is going to miss everything we did together.

I know she is dating this man, but I feel that if she comes back to me I am still going to love her, even though she caused a lot of pain for me. I still love her and want to be with her, also for our son's sake.

Am I being stupid to accept her if she comes back? I am busy trying to convince her to come back.

Confused, Mpumalanga

What on earth are you doing? Do you think that begging, and bullying, can make your woman love you? Do you think she will magically rekindle her feelings for you because you are determined that she should?

You say that she has stood her ground about no longer loving you. What part of that message are you not understanding?

Sure, you may have shared a kiss over a lunch, but that has no meaning in the big picture. And, from the sound of it, the big picture is that you are wasting your time. Move on. Find someone who will love you without having to be convinced to do so.
