The death of Paulos Madimetja Langa has robbed the Vaal community of a leader and generous businessman.

Langa, who was born in Pretoria, died just a month before his 55th birthday. Commonly known as "The living legend" by friends, family and the community, he was a humble, disciplined man who dearly loved his family.

Langa was a staunch "Bhakabhaka" [Orlando Pirates fan]. Langa and his wife Matshidiso were the owners of the popular Malangeni Lodge in Walkerville.

Langa went to Musi High School in Pimville, Soweto, during the 1970s where he was an activist and one of the leaders during the 1976 uprising.

He is survived by his wife, children Maleya and Kgomotso, four sisters, two brothers and a granddaughter.

Langa will be buried on Sunday at Roshnee Cemetery. The service will be held at Plot 29 Voortrekker Road, Walkerville, from 9am.
