An elderly woman was found dead after a break-in at her home in Makhado, said Limpopo police.

An elderly woman was found dead after a break-in at her home in Makhado, said Limpopo police.

Captain Maano Sadiki yester day said the woman, 78, was found with her hands tied behind her back.

There was blood on her face.

Two of her employees were ordered to lie on the ground and were robbed of a firearm by four armed men they confronted leaving the house at 7am.

Police arrived to find the house had been ransacked and that the safe was open.

Sadiki believed money and a firearm may have been stolen.

The robbers appeared to have cut open a window to gain entry to the house.

Sadiki said a white car with Gauteng number plates was seen driving slowly in the vicinity shortly before the robbery. - Sapa
