Police found two 9mm guns at the residence of one of the men charged with the murder of reggae icon Lucky Dube.

Yesterday the Johannesburg high court also heard that the unlicensed firearms had their serial numbers filed off.

Sfiso Mhlanga, 32, Julius Gxowa, 30, and Mbuti Mabe, 29, are standing trial for the murder of Dube in Rosettenville on October 18 2007.

Inspector Ernest Dlamini of Booysens police station told the court: "The 9mm Glock was found under the bed of accused number one and the 9mm CZ was found behind a speaker."

Mhlanga's defence lawyer advocate Vuyo Jack argued that his client knew nothing about the guns and that no proper procedures were followed during his arrest.

The three accused are in custody and the trial continues today.
