With only seven weeks to go to the World Schools Football Championship, Rosina Sedibane High School are said to be ready and raring to show what they are made of when they square up to 23 other countries.

The tournament is scheduled for April 6 to 13 in Antalya, Turkey.

Rosina Sedibane qualified for the event after they clinched the national Vodacom Inter-schools Challenge last year.

Coach Godfrey Mosoetsa, who is also SuperSport United's development coach, said they will use the league and schools competition matches to sharpen the team for the battle ahead.

"Last week the boys were able to beat AmaTuks' development side 3-1 twice to win the Safa Tshwane SAB League.

"From this week we will be engaged in the preliminary stages of the Coca-Cola Football Stars. According to our programme we must play at least twice a week to ensure that the boys are kept in good shape," Mosoetsa told Sowetan yesterday.

"I am confident that we will be able to assemble a formidable squad that will not go there [to Turkey] only to add the numbers, but to bring the silverware to the country," added Mosoetsa.

The school's key players include midfielder Miguel Timm, goalkeeper Rowen Williams, and strikers Thabiso Khwela and Lebogang Mohonko.
