Peace Lovers lead race for promotion

Polokwane-based Limpopo Vodacom League side Peace Lovers fortified their promotion chances when they beat Bahwiti 2-0 during a one-sided match at Turfloop sports ground yesterday.

Lovers have amassed 65 points from 24 matches and are left with six matches to complete their league programme, while second placed Manendze Liverpool have collected the same points from 27 matches.

Boroka are breathing down their necks with 60 points from 25 matches. At the bottom Phalaborwa Real Rovers, Bahwiti and Mighty are fighting to move out of the relegation zone.

Back to the match, the two sides went into the half-time break without scoring.

Lovers took the lead in the 50th minute through Velile Mdaka and Jacob Mokalapa scored the last goal in the last three minutes of the match.

In other results Liverpool had a good afternoon when they thrashed The Dolphins 7-2, while Lephalale Young Killers walloped Mighty 6-1.

FC Tebcon eased their relegation woes when they beat Mahwelereng United 5-1 and Baroka beat Masemola Diarora 1-0.
