People at lottery operator Gidani are just as excited. It was an historic draw that produced unique results for them.
Gidani spokesman Thembi Tulwana said it was the first time that 18 millionaires were created with a single draw on the same night - and has praised my magic finger for that.
"The draw broke the record," Tulwana said.
A total of R21,8million was at stake, giving each of the winners R1,2million.
"Ma ... it's him, it's the man who pressed the button. He was also in the Sowetan yesterday," one young lady said yesterday as she pointed me out at a mall in Florida.
Ever since Saturday, I have been explaining to people that I did not give the numbers, I only pressed the button. I have been assuring people that none of the 18 people who struck it rich on Saturday are my friends, I had no dealings with them. I have never seen them in my life.
"How could you? You leave your friends and go and give the numbers to strangers?" a neighbour confronted me.
I have also been revealing to colleagues and friends that I took a R28 and R14 quick pick bets on my way to Urban Brew studios to participate in the draw, and none of the tickets came close. No three numbers, only one ticket had the number 13 in two lines, and that was all.
People I met and spoke to in Vosloorus, Katlehong and Dobsonville believe that I should be used in many more draws so that more punters can benefit.
Tulwana revealed yesterday that seven of the 18 millionaires had already claimed their money. She said that so far, three winners are from Gauteng, two from Cape Town, one from North West and the other from KwaZulu-Natal.
