South Africa will join the East Africa celebrations for the 2010 World Cup by sending a team to take part in a tournament next month.

South Africa will join the East Africa celebrations for the 2010 World Cup by sending a team to take part in a tournament next month.

The five-a-side tournament from March 9 to 29, known as the Peace Caravan 1pal, will travel to Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and Uganda.

The launch will take place in Kigali, Rwanda, on March 8.

Dan Moyo, the 2010 World Cup government unit's head, said invitation teams from the six countries will compete in this development competition.

Moyo said soccer ambassadors like George Weah of Liberia, Mark Fish and Phil Masinga of South Africa and Abedi Pele of Ghana will also be part of the event.
