Sandile "AK 47" Ndlovu, Moroka Swallows chief striker, reckons they will have to be consistent to be seen as Absa Premiership title challengers.
Ndlovu was speaking after steering Swallows to a well deserved 2-1 win over Kaizer Chiefs at Olympia Park in Rustenburg on Saturday night.
It was The Beautiful Birds' third win over Amakhosi thidss season - twice in the Premiership and in a knockout competition.
"We played according to the coach's (Julio Cesar Leal) instructions, the early goal we scored worked for us," said Ndlovu.
"I feel great to have contributed to the success of my team, credit to the coach, technical staff, management and the supporters for a job well done.
"The win has brought us back into the race for the championship. We have been doing well but will have to be consistent."
Ndlovu opened the scoring in the fourth minute and made it 2-0 in the 50th, beating Chiefs' reserve goalie Emile Baron.
Leal attributed the win to the commitment and dedication of his charges, who the Brazilian coach described as "wonderful".
"The guys played well and deserved the win. The team finished seventh last season, we have to improve that position.
"When the season started, the plan was to finish in the top bracket," said Leal, brother to Bafana Bafana assistant coach Jairo Leal.
Turning to the victims of the evening, coach Muhsin Ertugral could only blame one team for their defeat - Chiefs.
"We have ourselves to blame, we did not play our normal football. Our defence was also not too organised."
Swallows must be proud of the win and should have won by a wider margin had it not been for the early brilliant saves by Baron.
Chiefs also had several scoring opportunities but their men of the moment, Abia Nale, Kaizer Motaung Junior and David Mathebula failed to rattle the net.
Josta Dladla struggled a bit, hence he was later replaced by Mathebula but Ertgural is adamant the former Mamelodi Sundowns player will add value to the club.
Motaung made up for the earlier misses when he pulled one back in the 89th minute, but it was a question of too little too late.
