Just rumours or Cope would act

Firstly, let me dispel the untruth that Cope will not allow public servants to join trade unions aligned to political parties. The party says that any person is allowed to join a union of their choice, but is proposing that these trade unions must not be allied to political parties.

This is because the unions also represent members who might not necessarily follow that particular political party.

Secondly, he says: "We never before heard of parties using state resources for election campaigns until Cope was established."

Where does he live?

The same newspapers the writer quoted reported that Jacob Zuma was transported to the Nongoma rally in a state helicopter.

We see it day in and day out - the ANC using municipality vehicles to transport election material and even people to their meetings. Perhaps he doesn't see them because of his blind loyalty to the so-called "tested parties".

When something unbecoming has been committed by a Cope member, the party has taken action against the person. I believe that if the rumours have substance, those involved will be dealt with accordingly.
