The government has been hijacked by the rich - thus leading to terrible failure to live up to promises made to our people, Nchaupe Mokoape, president of the Black Consciousness Party (BCP) told thousands of mourners in Boksburg on Saturday.

He was speaking at the funeral of BC stalwart Phuti Makgakga, who died after a long illness.

"What is happening in our country is that the state has outsourced everything to the private sector which knows only one thing - profit."

"Capitalism uses and discards our people according to its dictates."

Capitalism produces disease, poverty and unemployment so we must embrace scientific socialism, he said.
