Hlakano Dodgers have promised to surprise top guns Mahwelereng Spikes and Seleteng Giant Killers in the Limpopo Softball Association's LimDev Super League matches at GaLedwaba on Sunday.

Dodgers, who survived relegation last season, are in sixth place, with 13 points from nine matches. They will play Spikes at 1pm and two hours later they will face defending champions Killers.

Dodgers' coach Collen Chuene said they will not go into Sunday's matches like sheep going into the lions' den.

"We will do all that is possible to ensure that we secure some points from these matches. The recent signing of versatile pitcher Matome 'Dukes' Thoka will assist us to face the two giants," Chuene said yesterday.

Players like Shaoline Thopola and Adam Milanzi are expected to carry Dodgers' hopes against veteran campaigners such as Killers' Moses Molaba, Manganga Molokwane and Frank Chokoe, and 17-year-old Elvis Mmahlase.

Spikes' mouthpiece Mogaba Tsebe said they will use locally based players such as Marvin "Marvellous" Teffo and Khutso Masengi in the absence of their key players who have moved to Gauteng.

In other matches Ledwaba Giant Elephants will take on Moletlane Texas at 10.30am while Mmotong Lions will try their luck against Killers at the same time.

Fixtures

Elephants v Texas (10.30am); Lions v Killers (10.30am); University of Limpopo (UL) v Texas (1pm); Spikes v Dodgers (1pm); Elephants v UL (3pm) and Killers v Dodgers (3pm)
